Coach Tony Miller demonstrates a great small group drill to work on shooting under pressure! Check out the full breakdown in the video below.

1v1 cone tap contested shooting

This is a fun shooting game that your players, especially the younger ones, will enjoy. The goal is for the shooter to feel a little pressure shooting random shots inside the 3P arc.

  • Players start stacked, one at the free throw line and one at the 3P line.
  • When the Dish passes out the ball, the player at the nail catches and tosses the ball up in the air.
  • On the toss, both players move to touch their cone. The player at the nail is on defense, and the player at the 3P line is on offense.
  • On the catch, the offensive player either shoots immediately or shot fakes. The defender must immediately jump to contest the shot.
