NBA Skills Trainer and [iCAN Player Development](https://www.icanbball.com/) founder [Kyle Travis](https://blog.drdishbasketball.com/topic/kyle-travis) introduces a great drill for preparing your shot.

"Before we even touch the basketball, we want to make sure our hands are prepared," says Travis.

#### SHOT PREP SERIES

- Hands: Instead of waving your hands to show you're open, get in a shot-ready stance and show your palm
- Feet: On the catch, your strong-side foot should hit step into the shot at the same time you catch the pass

"Be ready before you catch the ball."
