A new basketball season is here! As a coach, I’m always looking for new team shooting drills to use with our players. Because we devote at least 20 minutes of shooting per practice, we like to have plenty of options in our drill book to choose from. Here are 3 of our favorites.
As the name implies, this one gets wild pretty quickly, but it’s great for getting up a lot of shots in a short amount of time. And, it forces guys to focus and really communicate in order for things to keep working.
We like to put 1:00 or 2:00 on the clock and keep track of how many shots we make. That number then serves as our goal to top the next time we use the drill.
This is a great drill to use with a Dr. Dish shooting machine. It’s also great to use with two groups to get teams competing against each other for makes.
The name pays tribute to Mike Neighbors, head coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks’ women’s basketball team. It’s a combination shooting and rebounding drill.
