Duke Team Shooting Drill: Drive and Retreat

Written by Nick Bartlett | Jun 26, 2019 1:33:31 PM

This is a great drill using Dr. Dish CT to simulate getting cut off in a dribble penetration situation from Coach Sam Miller of Duke Women's Basketball.

Here, we utilize the retreat dribble to create space and attack downhill again. On the opposite side, we have a spot up shooter spacing out to the corner for a shot and receive a 2nd shot for the passer relocating back to the 3 point line after making a pass.

Check out the full breakdown below!

Try this shooting drill out in your next team/small group workout!

Skills worked on: Shooting off the move, ball handling, passing (all in one drill).

Pass tempo: 3

Pass distance: 3-4

Pass locations: Each wing

Goal: Makes, takes, or time
