Our 6 Basketball Drill Modes: Explained

When you train with the best basketball shooting machine, Dr. Dish Basketball, we give you options to train how you like. One of the best ways is with our drill modes. These are something that you can select when you build a basketball training drill, check out the 6 different modes you can choose.

When you want to start shooting, choosing a drill mode is one of the first things you select since it will change how the machine will automatically move/advance from spot to spot and what qualifies a drill as being "over".

These settings are available on all of our machines, and are programmed on the machine tablet or in the Player App.

Quick Start:
Start quickly and stop manually. With quick start, there is no overall goal that you are trying to reach such as the total number of shots taken. The basketball shooting machine will continue operating at the spots and tempo you set until you tell it to stop.

Made Mode:
When you select Made mode you are creating a drill that will be completed when you make a total number shots. For example, you will select how many total shots you want to make in total, combining all the makes from the different locations you choose.

Attempts Mode:
Similar to made mode, attempts mode will ask you to select the total number of shots you want to take within the drill. No matter what spots and tempo you choose, the drill will be over when you reach your goal of total taken shots.

Timed Mode:
Timed mode is exactly what it sounds like, set up a workout based on duration. The drill will be completed after however minutes you choose!

Make-it Mode:
Make it mode is similar to made mode, except it is dependent on only one location. Meaning, if you choose 3 spots to shoot at you must make X number of shots at the first location before the machine will advance. This is one of our more challenging drill modes because if you are struggling at one location, you could be there for awhile before you make the number you set.

Streak Mode:
Streak mode is a fun one, and challenges players to make shots in a row. Similar to make-it mode you will only advance to the next spot when you make X number of shots in a row. The drill will end when you have streaked X amount of shots at each of the locations you select.
