Favorites and Tournament Stars

The star power in Women's college basketball is off the charts. Starting with sensational Caitlin Clark and the 1st seeded Iowa Hawkeyes, who look to avenge last years championship game loss. But how can you not talk about favorites without mentioning the undefeated South Carolina, who cruised through regular season winning 32 straight games. JuJu Watkins has been amazing this year and leads the 1st seeded USC, averaging 27 ppg. The final 1st seed, Texas also has proven themselves with Madison Booker putting up 16.9 ppg this season. Recently names All-American's included UConn's Paige Bueckers, Stanford's Cameron Brink, and the defending champion LSU Tigers star Angel Reese.

Teams cooking as of late

2nd seeded Notre Dame has been on a tear lately, with their last five wins coming against top-25 ranked teams. Hannah Hidalgo leads the team in scoring averaging 23.3 ppg. Texas has won 12 of their last 13 games with scoring coming from everywhere. UNLV has had a great season and hasn't lost a game since January 20th. 9th seeded Princeton have ran through the Ivy league winning 22 of their last 23 games.

Sleepers and Cinderella run candidates 

Who doesn't love a good upset? Here are some teams to look out for in a big-time upset. 11th seeded Middle Tennessee has put on a clinic from beyond the 3pt line and face a shaky Louisville team in the first round, but have to get past LSU in a potential second round matchup. The Drake Bulldogs posted a 29-5 overall record in the regular season and have two elite scorers, who can score from anywhere on the court. Fairfield hasn't lost a game since the second week of the season and are facing Indiana who lost their first game of the Big Ten conference tournament.
