In this progression, Professional Basketball Coach Liam Flynn goes through a great pick and roll scenario while using the Dr. Dish CT in the Dish Lab.
Make sure to check out his previous 3 videos of the Drive, Kick, Clear progression team drills:
As he explains in the video below, this drill is perfect for 6 players and a coach/passer (7 players total). There will be 3 passes made by the Dish and 3 shots - 1 by each offensive player - within one rep.
There's no doubt that the pick and roll has become a staple in the game of basketball at all levels. It's essential to make the proper read off of the action and understand how to attack the defense.
This drill also reinforces the Drive, Kick, Clear concepts that Coach Flynn preaches in his previous videos in the Dish Lab.
Pass locations: Wing, Slot, and Opposite Corner Pass Distance: 3-4 Pass Tempo: 3 Goal: Can be made, taken, or time. We would recommend doing the drill for ~5 minutes and then changing offense/defense. Also, we would recommend changing the sides of the floor as well.
