Coach Tony Miller shares a breakdown for a dribble drive basketball drill perfect for small group training. Check out the breakdown in the video below!

In our small group workouts, I like to use breakdown drills to rep our offense while also training decision-making and shooting. Here’s one of those drills to train players in our adapted Dribble Drive offense.

Dribble Drive Shooting

DD

  • Position players in the corners and in the slots.
  • The Dish will pass out to the slot.
  • On the catch, the player will immediately pass to the other slot then cut to the opposite corner.
  • The slot player will drive then kick to the corner player.
  • That corner player will middle drive, read the defender, then pass to the open teammate.
  • That player will either catch-and-shoot or make the “one more” pass to the teammate.
