At Dr. Dish Basketball it's not only our goal to build better shooters, but better COMPLETE players. While we primarily focus on accelerating skill development through our basketball training equipment, we know a huge part of becoming a better complete player (and coach for that matter) is training your mind.
We were very fortunate to have our friend and basketball trainer, Mike Lee, Founder of Thrive3, join us in the Dish Lab to discuss how practicing mindfulness can translate to the game of basketball.
In this 6 part series, Mike dives into a handful of practices and exercises designed to give players, coaches, and programs a competitive edge as they embark on a long basketball season.
Check out Part 1 below on how to get started!
Mike has been a basketball trainer for many years and has worked with many top level high school, college, and pro players. While he's an expert at skill development, he's also dove into the mental approach to the game to help players gain an edge.
There's no doubt being mentally strong is a huge part of the game and a big way to differentiate from the competition. However, many players and coaches alike aren't sure where to start or how to start. This video gives a brief synopsis of why mindfulness can be so important and successful and how to implement it in your routine.
Stay tuned for Part 2-6 coming!
