The off-season is the perfect time for basketball coaches, trainers, and players to focus on skill development and get ahead before the season begins. And whether you're training in the gym or at home, using a basketball shooting machine can take workouts to the next level.
We've teamed up with Coach Tony Miller to bring you 10 FREE individual and small group basketball shooting drills designed to improve basketball shooting skills, boost player confidence, and increase shot consistency. One of Coach Tony Miller's favorite ways to end a workout is with a timed free throws drill. Its focused on building consistency and rhythm with a player's shot. Check it out below! And get instant FREE access to 9 other drills.
Timed Free Throws Drill Breakdown:
- Set a time limit of 30, 45, or 60 seconds.
- Use a quick passing tempo (1 or 2 on the Dish).
- The player should catch and shoot without going into a full free throw routine.
- The goal is to build rhythm and consistency while making as many free throws in a row as possible.
While this basketball drill works with or without a Dr. Dish Basketball shooting machine, using one helps teams maximize their workouts with automatic passes, real-time and post-workout stats, heatmaps, and less time spent chasing rebounds.
