Creighton Men's Basketball Upsets No. 1 Ranked UCONN

Upsets are a staple of the college basketball world, this past Tuesday we got a preview of the excitement and thrill of March Madness. The No. 1 team in the nation, UConn headed to Omaha, Nebraska to take on No. 15 Creighton in a Big East showing.
UConn posting a 24-2 record before this game was the clear cut No. 1 team and the defending national champions. Heading into the final stretch of the regular season, they looked to lock out the top overall seed of this years NCAA tournament. Creighton is also having a solid season, as the No. 15 ranked team and a 19-7 record. With scoring from coming a multitude of ways. Creighton is averaging the 6th most made three pointers per game in all of division one 1 basketball.
Although back and fourth throughout the first 10 minutes of game time, Creighton started pulling away further into the first half. With guard Steve Ashworth putting on a show scoring 16 points before half. The first half ended with Creighton up 43-29, and never looked back. They held a double digit lead the rest of the game and completed the upset, knocking off the defending champs.
Coach Greg McDermott earned his 600th as a Head Coach and looks to build on this game to make a deep run in the 2024 March Madness basketball tournament. Dr. Dish recently had the opportunity to visit Creighton and catch up with Coach McDermott, he spoke on the teams "All In" mentality.
