At Dr. Dish Basketball we're fortunate to be a part of many great basketball events around the country and even around the world!
Recently, we had the opportunity to partner up with our good friend Jamal Abu-Shamala as he runs an annual outdoor 3 on 3 youth basketball tournament in his hometown of Shakopee, MN.
Who is Jamal?
Jamal was a star at Shakopee High School and upon graduating in 2005 as a State Champion he played 4 years of college basketball at the University of Minnesota in the Big 10. Since then he's played overseas and for the Palastine National Team.
Now, he runs JAS Elite Training in the Minneapolis area and is the Director of Player Development for The Blake School in Hopkins, MN.
3 on 3 Tournament
When we were approached about partnering with his tournament this year, we were immediately interested and are excited that we did.
There were 50+ kids that competed and each one had the opportunity to shoot on the NEW Dr. Dish CT. We were able to run a competition where each player received 15 shots - 5 from 3 different spots. The winner won an iC3 Shot Trainer!
The entire day was an absolute blast! The kids got to play, get up reps on the Dish, listen to some tunes on our integrated speaker, and have a ton of fun.
Check out a full recap of the event below!
One common misconception is that Dr. Dish shooting machines are only used in an indoor/gym setting. In reality, we have tons of users that use Dr. Dish outdoors at their homes, at parks, or transport them to outdoor courts.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Jamal and JAS Training while following his success as a player, coach, and trainer.
