Florida Gators Team Shooting Drill: Corner Lift into Dribble Hand Off
by Nick Bartlett, on Oct 30, 2019 4:05:12 PM
In this team shooting drill, Head Coach Mike White of the University of Florida Gators Men's Basketball Team uses the Dr. Dish CT to simulate a few different game-like actions.
First, the drill starts with a pass to the top of the key. From there, the player in the corner executes a lift action that can also be simulating a down screen to catch a pass on the wing. After they catch and square up to the hoop, they engage in a dribble hand off with the original passer who ends up taking the jumper off the dribble.
Each rep of the drill will alternate going right and left and each player will rotate spots after finishing the rep.
As with all drills, it's essential to execute at game speed and simulate the game situation as best as possible. Adding in "dummy" defenders can add another wrinkle that allows players to see how the drill translates to a game setting.
Stay tuned for more great team drills from Coach Mike White using their Dr. Dish CT. We look forward to cheering on the Gators this season and beyond!
