Hoosier Shooting Academy's Road to 6 Million Shots Taken

Paul Swartz, CEO of Hoosier Shooting Academy, has been a dedicated basketball coach and trainer for over 20 years. Now, his Indiana-based basketball business is celebrating over 6 million shots taken in its 4 years of operation.

After his years of training over 40 NBA players, Paul wanted to gain inspiration from other trainers in the industry. During his 8+ years of traveling around the US, Paul noticed two things that he knew he needed to help improve. "One of those was a decline in the fundamentals of the game. I see people doing workouts and teaching moves or finishes that coaches don't want." And on a global level, "I noticed more and more overseas players coming over and doing better than us. It starts at the grassroots level. I wanted to attack the problem of too much club ball and get back to teaching the right way."

So in 2020, with just a notebook full of ideas, Paul decided to take a big leap and open Hoosier Shooting Academy. Making his dream of impacting the basketball community by teaching morals and fundamentals all in one place, a reality.

While HSA doesn't have any full court competitive play, they do offer facility memberships that grant access to all 14 shooting keys, various skill development areas, as well as hands-on coaching and guidance that's personalized to each player's specific needs.

Each shooting key in the HSA facility features a Dr. Dish shooting machine to:

• Get up a high volume of shots
• Track player stats and progress
• Maximize time during each session
• Offer NBA-level drills and workouts

And when asked why he chose Dr. Dish Paul said, "It was a simple choice. I see where Dr. Dish started and where they are now. I see innovation, I see a vision, and I see them growing. Dr. Dish and the HSA are lock-stepped together to change the future of basketball. Then, I look at the competitors and see the same things reproduced over and over. They show little or no growth or innovation."

Since partnering with Dr. Dish, HSA has reached a major milestone. Today, the facility is celebrating over 6 million shots taken on their machines in just 4 years! Together, HSA and Dr. Dish are continuing to grow and elevate the way players train.
