We're thrilled to announce that Parker Fox , Minnesota native and forward, has officially joined the Dr. Dish family! It's only fitting that Parker finishes his college career right here in his home state. Read more about our exciting partnership below.
Why Dr. Dish
Parker has been training with Dr. Dish since high school and when asked about how it's impacted his training he shared,
Using a shooting machine like Dr. Dish is awesome because there is a rebounder for you 24/7. However much work you want to put in, Dr. Dish is always going to put it in for you as well.
To be a great shooter you gotta put up a ton of reps. You gotta put in thousands of shots every single day. That’s something that, during the summers of my high school career, I tried to get up a thousand shots every day. Whether that’s corner, wing, top of the key, just getting in extra shots and really trying to rep it out and take the same shot every time.
Consistency is such an important part of shooting and obviously the Dr. Dish helps out with that."
Playing at Northern State
Prior to his career at Minnesota, Parker played at Northern State, where he ended his NSU career as the NSIC North Division Defensive Player of the Year, Player of the Year, and a first team all-conference honoree. He was also named to the NABC and D2CCA All-America teams. Off the court, Parker has two degrees, including a master's degree in sports management.
Wrapping up the college career in Minnesota
Since playing for Minnesota, he's battled through injuries leading up to his redshirt senior season - where he was one of two Gophers to play in every game after missing two-straight years due to knee injuries. He averaged 14 minutes of playing time and had 172 points as a firestarter off the bench. He earned Academic All-Big Ten, and Minnesota's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree. Parker recently announced that he's back for one more year at Minnesota and we couldn't be more excited!
Parker also participated this summer in the Twin Cities Pro Am by sponsoring a team where he coaches and does interviews for his podcast. The Twin Cities Pro Am is an event played at Minnehaha Academy High School in Minneapolis, with some of the top high school, college and professional players in Minnesota. This year some of the top talent among Parker included NBA veteran and Sun's Guard Tyus Jones, Timberwolves Center Luka Garza, and the No. 1-ranked high school senior in the state, Cretin-Derham Hall's Tommy Ahneman.
