Creighton University Men's Head Basketball Coach, Greg McDermott shares another great team drill focused on transition 3-point shooting from 4 spots on the floor. Check out the full breakdown in the video below!
Spurs Drill
- Set up two lines: one for passing and one for shooting.
- Shooter starts at half-court, ready to sprint to the designated spot for a transition 3-point shot.
- One minute total from each spot:
- Top to wing transition 3
- Wing to top transition 3
- Top to opposite wing transition 3
- Opposite wing to top transition 3
- Goal: 65 makes
Transition 3-point shots play a crucial role in the Bluejays' offensive strategy. Coach McDermott shared that they focus on these shots in practice because he doesn't want to have to, "call a timeout to draw up a play that you just turned down in transition". Prioritizing daily practice of these shots ensures that executing them becomes second nature when game time arrives!
