Move 1: Downhill Attack and Snatch Back
- Dribble drive downhill towards the basket
- After penetrating snatch back dribble to separate from your defender
Brunson uses this move to his advantage when being guarded by bigger and slower defenders. Focus on keeping your balance and footwork correct while snatching back. The midrange jumper is a lost art in todays basketball and you can catch your defender off balance with this move.
Move 2: In and Out Stepback
- Size up you defender off the dribble or catch
- Use the in and out dribble either direction
- Stepback after the in and out and create space from your defender

Keeping the defender "in jail" is a move that has gained popularity in recent years. Smaller guards can use this move to their advantage to get open and clean midrange jumpers. Make sure to create enough space away from your with the side or step back.
