After inexplicably sliding to the 29th overall pick in last month's NBA Draft, TyTy Washington has remained positive, focusing on the task of earning his spot with the team who took him.
"With me falling in the draft, I feel like everything happens for a reason," Washington said. "All it takes is for one team to believe in you. And the Rockets believed in me.”
Washington's NBA career unofficially tipped off this past Wednesday, as the Rockets matched up against #1 overall pick Paulo Banchero and the Magic.
Entering the game midway through the first quarter, TyTy made an immediate impact, driving the lane with a nice floater for his first two Summer League points.

All in all, Washington ended the night with seven points, four rebounds, three assists, and a block for good measure.
ESPN sideline reporter Doris Burke mentioned on the broadcast that she heard TyTy has been the team's best shooter in practice as well. If his debut is any indication, we'll see that pretty quickly in game-action as well.
