Why Global Munchkins Loves Their Dr. Dish Home
At Dr. Dish Basketball we're extremely fortunate to work with many great partners and brands. Recently, we had the opportunity to work with and send the family at Global Munchkins a Dr. Dish Home shooting machine to utilize at their home court. The family of 5 kids have a love for the game of basketball and they knew that adding a Dr. Dish Home to their home would only enhance their training and have even more fun.
We were thrilled that they captured their initial experience including their unboxing and setup here: 5 reasons Dr. Dish Home is the best basketball shooting machine for families. Check out the full post below!
The love for basketball is big in this house, we try to catch a game wherever we travel to. Whether it’s the Thunder in Oklahoma City, the Trailblazers in Portland, and the Knicks in New York, catching a game is one of the best parts of our trip. With no sports going on, no summer camps and having three teenage boys at home all summer it is very hard to help them keep up with their basketball training. Camden, my 17 year old recommended we get a basketball shooting machine. It took a lot of convincing to get me to even consider it, but I hate to say it, he was right.
We researched a lot of basketball shooting machines and rebounders. We talked to our kids’ coaches and researched online and after some thorough research, we decided on Dr. Dish Home for our backyard Sport Court. Here are 5 reasons why Dr. Dish is the Best Basketball Shooting Machine period.
1. Easy Setup and Take Down!
15 MINUTE ASSEMBLY
30 SECOND SETUP AND TAKE DOWN
The Dr. Dish is on wheels, so when you are ready to use you simply roll it to the hoop. Just a few clicks and a lever pull and the machine is setup. It really is that easy. When you are done, you simply reverse the process and you can easily put the machine away.
2. Take 1,000's Of Shots in One Day- I'm Not Kidding
My youngest son Shea is our most dedicated basketball player. I would have to constantly remind him that he can’t go shoot basketballs at 7 am as our neighbors would not be too happy. That being said, even with his dedication he probably would shoot 100-200 shots on his best day as the majority of the time he would spend retrieving balls.
The Dr. Dish has a net rebounder to capture any misses, and the balls funnel down to the shooting machine to launch the next ball. You can easily take 100 shots in 10-15 minutes. Shea has been shooting consistently over 1,000 shots in a day, even my 43-year-old husband is taking 200-300 shots in a day. (He’s trying to keep up with the teens, it’s admirable, but not working 😉
3. Game Changer- Dr. Dish App
Dr. Dish has an app that is unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong, the machine is incredible, but the app is what really motivates my kids. On the app, there are so many features that make my kids want to get out there and shoot constantly.
TRACK THE NUMBER OF SHOTS, SHOT PERCENTAGE, AND MORE!
3. Hundreds Of Drills & Workouts to use or create your own
Dr. Dish isn’t simply a basketball shooting machine. On the Dr. Dish App, your child can choose from hundreds of different drills to help improve your basketball game. You can practice running around a screen and take a shot, shoot a floater, crossover dribbling drills and so many more.
Each drill has a video to preview what the drill is and then a video that goes over exactly what the player needs to do in the drill.
Pro Tip – Having a partner adds fun to the workouts. My boys often do drills together to make the drills more fun
4. Create your own workouts
You can also create your own workout and there are honestly an endless number of options. You can set the areas on the court you want to shoot, the number of shots you want to shoot (or make), and even the pace of the machine. My kid’s favorite custom workout is to setup a 3 point competition like the NBA has during the all-star weekend.
NBA PLAYER SHOOTING CHALLENGES
A new feature that just came out are challenges by NBA players. You can see how you do against an NBA player in different drills and see how you do against the rest of the Dr. Dish Community.
5. Compete against other Dr. Dish Players & Follow your favorites
In the short amount of time we have had the basketball shooting machine, our kids’ shooting has dramatically improved. My son Shea already had a pretty impressive shot, but being able to consistently shoot over and over has jumped his percentage.
My older son’s shot has always been inconsistent, one day a hot shooter and the next day ice cold. When we received the Dr. Dish his 3 point shooting was averaging 30%. It has now shot up to over 40%
Pro Tips-
take Pictures
Take pictures of your kids shooting with Dr. Dish. We noticed on our older son, his elbow would kick out after a few shots and he was jumping from flat feet. After noticing those adjustments, it made a dramatic difference.
Do More Than Shooting Drills
Basketball is obviously way more than shooting. Dr. Dish has numerous trills to improve your game. Not only will it keep your child motivated by always doing a new drill, but it will also help develop a more well-rounded game.
Overall Review
Overall, we could not be any happier with the Dr. Dish. It is incredibly easy to set up and take down. Our kids are shooting easily 500% more shots in a day and can see their improvement with the Dr. Dish app. It truly has helped keep our kids motivated and help them improve their skills.
Again, we're very excited to work with Global Munchkins and genuinely appreciate their thorough review. Make sure to visit their website and follow them on your favorite social platforms
