3 Ways to use the Dr. Dish Patented Swivel Net to Train the inside and outside game
by Emily Stiemsma, on Aug 1, 2023 1:49:17 PM
Dr. Dish Basketball brought the first basketball shooting machine to the market with the ability to swivel the net to use the machine like a passer away from the basket. Technology like this allows players to get inside reps by themselves or with a teammate, and work on other parts of their game (like ball-handling) with the efficiency of a shooting machine. Check out more about the swivel net plus 3 creative ways to use it below!
There are a few ways to utilize a feature like this into your training, but before we get into it, let's see how quickly you can set up the machine to be used like this. Tap the video below to see how you program the machine, and swivel the net in just a couple of minutes.
Below are a few of our favorites but you can get creative, too.
IMPROVE YOUR BALL-handling and reaction time
Set up the machine away from the basket, and swivel the net so it is facing you. Stand directly in front of the machine. With one or two balls, you can practice dribbling and then return the ball to the machine for it to be passed out. With 2 balls, practice catching the ball with only one hand while keeping the dribble in the other, like Reid shows you below!
While this is an older video, using the original All-Star that used to have this feature, it's a great workout for you to do today on CT+.
Finish at the RIM with the machine as your passer
Set up the machine anywhere on the perimeter to receive passes to drive to the rim, or get the ball at the block to make a move. Check out Shane Hennen (@hennen_workouts) showcasing 5 finishes at the rim, with the Dr. Dish away from the basket being used as a passer.
Small Sided partner games
With the Dish away from the basket, it is always easy to set up competitive game-like play! In this Small Sided Game Basketball Drill from Coach Tony Miller (@TonyMillerCoach), players will work on driving to the basket against a defender. When the offense catches the ball, the play is live. This drill features the Dr. Dish CT+'s patented swivel net system to allow for away-from-the-basket movement.
There are so many ways to use the Dr. Dish CT+'s swivel net technology! What would you try first? For more information about the CT+, check out the product page here.
