5 Ways to Increase Accountability This Summer with a Dr. Dish

We particularly love the off-season here, because we get to experience how some player's are maximizing the benefits of a Dr. Dish Shooting machine. Coaches, trainers, and parents alike have expressed their concern with accountability... "how do I know my players are getting reps"? And as a player, "how can I hold myself accountable?" We're here to talk about just that - and the answer is simple.
As a former player myself, I wanted to be trusted by my coach or parents that when I said I was training or getting reps, I was. This post is not about micromanaging a player or elevating trust issues. It's about using a Dr. Dish (the only machine on the market with features like these) to make it easier on everyone to track summer progress and statistics. No guessing, no manually recording my reps, no counting, no paper exchange.
Here are a few ways you can utilize a Dr. Dish this summer to increase accountability:
1. Commit to a daily or weekly total shot count
Every time you get out on a Dr. Dish, you can track your makes, misses, and attempts (at what locations, too). Set a goal for a daily shot total on a daily or weekly basis. Maybe it's 1,000 shots a week. That's 4,000 tracked shots a month - can you imagine what this combined with solid feedback about your shot strengths and weaknesses could do to your game?
2) Sign up for our virtual camp, tell others and don't miss a day!
Gather your closest teammates and sign up for the Dr. Dish FREE virtual camp together. Already done it? Do it again! The links to access the workouts do not expire. A daily curriculum like this helps you go into a training session with direction and purpose. It's important to invite others to join alongside you in your goals so that you can hold each other accountable. "What'd you think of today's drills"?
3) As a Coach, use our Training Management assignments feature
When you need to manage your team, and you have a Dr. Dish All-Star or CT you have the luxury of depending on our Training management System to help you connect and provide for your players legally and efficiently. We have a feature that allows you to sign the workouts from within our training library to your roster of players, as well as see what the results and participation is. Every time your player shoots and saves their stats, it is something that you can see. Real data - 24/7.
4) Set up a friendly competition
Find a friend that also has access to a Dr. Dish basketball shooting machine and initiate a little friendly competition. Who can do more drills? Who can complete more workouts? Who can get up the most shots this week or have the best shooting percentage? Not only would you be getting better yourself, but you'd be encouraging your teammate to do the same. That is an underrated part of a being a good teammate.
5) Try out a program
Our programs help you commit to a weeks worth of workouts, the shot club are an excellent way to get a TON of basic reps up from all over the court. As an example, the 8k Shot Club Program is a total of 24 workouts, over an 8 week period. You can utilize the Dr. Dish programs if you have an All-Star, Pro, Home Dish, or CT!
No matter your method of holding yourself, or your players accountable to get better this season there is no question that a Dr. Dish is the perfect aid to assist you!
