Basketball Team Drills: Multiplayer Variations

Now that the season is here, it can be challenging to fit everything you need to into the few practices your team has each week. If you're looking for easy drills that help your players stay involved, get in more reps, and keep their shooting stats 100% accurate, check out these multiplayer drill variations that utilize Pass and Shot Location below.
Variation #1: Dribble Pull up Rotation
In this drill, players will focus on changing pace and improving their mid-range shots.
Players will receive a pass from the Dr. Dish at the top of the key and alternative between a dribble pull up at the right elbow, then the left. be sure to set a clear goal for your team whether it's aiming to hit a a certain amount of shots or taking a specific amount of shots in a limited time frame.
How to Build on Your Dr. Dish:
- On your Dr. Dish machine or Player app, go to Build A Drill and select "Timed Mode".
- Add a spot at the top of the key then update your location style to "Dribble and Shoot".
- Next add a spot at the left elbow and at the right elbow. Be sure to update "Balls Per Location" to only be 1.
Variation #2: Split Catch One Dribble Rotation
In this drill, players will work on an explosive first step and finishing mid-range shots.
Players will first receive a pass from the Dr. Dish at the right of left wing. Then, they will go into a dribble pull up near the free throw line. After all players have rotated through, they will then run over to the opposite wing and repeat. For added urgency, set a specific goal of taken or made shots.
How to Build on Your Dr. Dish:
- Go to Build A Drill and select "Timed Mode".
- Add a spot at the top of the left wing then update your location style to "Dribble and Shoot".
- Next, add a spot at the free throw line.
- Then, add another spot at the right wing with the "Dribble and Shoot" location style followed by a spot at the free throw line.
- Update your "Balls Per Location" to account for however many players participating in the drill.
