What a series. What a playoffs.
In the end, it was our own Allie Quigley and the Chicago Sky lifting the WNBA Championship trophy following an 80-74 game 4 win on their home floor over the Phoenix Mercury.

Following a regular season that saw her finish in the top five in 3-point percentage (45.4%) and lead the league at the free-throw line (96%), Quigley kept that success going into the playoffs and saved arguably her best performance for last.
In the series-clinching win, Quigley led her team with 26 points, knocked down five shots from behind the arc, made all three of her attempts from the charity stripe and added five rebounds.
In her 14 years as a pro, Allie has amassed all-star appearances, three-point shootout championships, and plenty of international accolades, but this is her first WNBA Championship.

On the other side of the coin, Dr. Dish Fam member Skylar Diggins-Smith and her Mercury squad came up just short of reaching the summit themselves, but that certainly does not take away from an incredible season and playoff run.
Diggins-Smith had a remarkable 2021 both on the WNBA floor and internationally. Back in August, she was part of the Team USA squad that took home Olympic Gold. In league-play, Skylar made an incredible impact, finishing the regular season as one of only two players in the top 10 in both scoring and assists.
Much like Quigley, Diggins-Smith finished the season with a remarkable performance. In the final game, she dropped 16 points and eight assists, doing everything she could to extend the season one more game.
