Dr. Dish Basketball and Coach Mason were able to take a trip out to Rockville, Maryland and had a chance to visit with Pat The Roc about his basketball career and what continues to motivate him. Pat is always on the look out for innovative ways to efficiently train his players and when he came across Dr. Dish shooting machines, he knew immediately that this would help his Skills Academy tremendously.
Dr. Dish was able to see Pat train an individual player and also train an entire team on our first night in Rockville. It was amazing to see all the different ways Pat uses his Dr. Dish All-Star shooting machine at the Academy. His players are able to get reps in shooting and also able to use the shooting machine for ball-handling and post training. This versatility has allowed him to expand his training and cater to any type of player that may step in through his doors.
The next morning, Coach Mason and Pat The Roc were able to put in some work at the Skills Academy as well as do a competitive one-on-one drill using the Dish. Pat also broke down some of his favorite moves and also talked about when and where on the court he would use them.
Before we left the Pat the Roc Skills Academy, Coach Mason was able to sit down and ask Pat a few questions about basketball and his personal journey. Pat went over what motivated him at a young age and also what continues to motivate him to this day! The great thing about basketball is everyone's journey is different and success in basketball can be defined in so many different ways. Pat The Roc's journey to becoming a player known around the world was very different and unique in comparison to most. He wasn't a highly recruited player and didn't necessarily fit the average mold for a basketball player. He was able to find his desire within and he also figured out how he could maximize his potential on the basketball court. Check out our awesome interview with Pat at his Skills Academy below!
Pat The Roc is a tremendous basketball player, but an even better person. Growing up he was always the smallest player on the court and he knew the only way he would get recognition and make his mark was to out work every other player. Pat overcame many obstacles in high school and college to get to whe re he is today. Pat believes that anything is possible and has this written in huge letters in his skills academy. It's a constant reminder to never give up and to always believe in yourself even when others don't. Pat has garnished many accolades in his basketball career but his main priority is to help his community and also help young players reach their full potential in basketball. Pat has had a hand in helping kids reach their goals and has worked with collegiate and professional players around the world.
Pat continues to push the envelope in training and we appreciate him teaming up with Dr. Dish basketball to help players to train hard, train smart, and train with a purpose!
