Basketball Drills: Streak Shooting

Dr. Dish Basketball proudly presents another great Skill Builder workout. In this complete workout, we focused on making shots consecutively after a single move. We also incorporated burst running which will work on our explosion and conditioning. This is a great workout for players who are looking to challenge their focus and ability to knock down pressure shots.
Damian Lillard is a great example of a player making big shots in pressure situations. Lillard never seems to get rattled by defenders or situations duroing the game. He stays even keel and does a great job of remaining consistent throughout the game.
Lillard is known for his great work ethic and also his shooting ability and during practice there is no doubt that he can knock down multiple shots in a row! Check out the video below and see how we included our streak shooting and conditioning drills in this complete workout!
Streak Shooting - Dr. Dish Skill Builder
Streak Shooting Drills
It's not easy knocking down shots consecutively and definitely much harder when you include any type of ball-handling. In this first shooting drill we challenged ourselves to make 5 shots in a row before moving on to the next spot. I can tell you that even for professional players this is a tough task but the ability to fight through fatigue and remain consistent on the shot will pay dividends come game time. Every player will eventually hit a wall physically and mentally but the key to overcoming this is to remain focused and to stick with the fundamentals and good habits that you've practiced. Make sure to change up the direction in which you are executing the single move so that you are consistent going both ways.
To take our shooting drills to the next level, we switched up our single moves in each shooting drill. Advanced players, try to challenge yourself to do some double and triple moves. You may want to program the Dish to a streak of 3-5 if you're going to do this. Continue to increase the tempo and push yourself faster and harder each time so that you get out of your comfort zone. Doing this will increase your confidence on the court and ultimately lead to you making shots consistently and also in difficult situations.
Conditioning and Agility
We also included burst sprinting in between our shooting drill to work on conditioning and also explosion. Split the court into fours and explode off your back foot each time you reach the line. Try your best to decelerate each time so that you are changing pace at every location. To finish this workout we knocked down some free throws and then saved the workout to view our stats.
If you are looking to take your training to the next level, there's nothing out there like Skill Builder that will build complete players. Make sure to check out our website for more information on how Dr. Dish is revolutionizing basketball training or give us a call at 952-873-2633.
